Responsible use

Sitecry is built to help people understand and improve their own websites. This policy explains the lines we draw so the service can’t be turned into a tool for snooping on others.

Strictly passive, public surface only

Every audit is a passive analysis of a site’s publicly exposed surface — the pages, headers and files any visitor can already see. Sitecry never logs in, submits forms, scans for hidden paths, or attempts to exploit a vulnerability. We do not perform penetration testing.

Audit your own sites

Run checkups only on sites you own or are explicitly authorised to assess (for example, a site you manage for a client). The free checkup is a high-level summary; sensitive, actionable security detail lives only in the Fix Plan, which is gated behind ownership verification or a Pass precisely so the service isn’t used for reconnaissance against sites you don’t control.

Handle findings responsibly

If a report surfaces a serious exposure, treat it with care and act to fix it — don’t exploit it or share it in a way that puts the site at risk. Every detailed report leaves a trace by design.

Fair use & enforcement

Don’t attempt to bypass account, verification or rate limits, or automate abuse of the service. We may suspend or remove access where we detect misuse, and we will cooperate with lawful requests. Misusing a service to access systems without authorisation may also be a criminal offence under Portuguese and other applicable law.
